Our Club History

 History of UNT CKI

The University of North Texas Circle K International is being re-chartered in 2023 by President Aidan Layman in collaboration with UNT Student Activities and The Denton Noon Kiwanis Club, after disbanding as a result of the 2020 pandemic. Our Faculty Advisor is Dr. Ben Graf from the College of Music, and our Kiwanis Advisor is Dr. Jackie deMontmollin, Vice President of the Denton Noon Kiwanis.

Originally UNT CKI was chartered on November 8, 1991. Only five short years after our chartering, member Scott Kimball became the Texas-Oklahoma Governor from 1996-1997. The Outstanding Treasurer Award for the Texas-Oklahoma District was named after UNT member and past-governor Scott Kimball. David Ragan, another UNT CKI member, became the Texas-Oklahoma governor serving from 2002-2003. The last UNT CKI member who was elected district governor was Heather Brittle who served from 2007-2008. Not only did three past district governors come from UNT, but we have had over five Lieutenant Governors, one District Treasurer, one District Editor, two District Secretaries, and over a dozen committee chairs!
